Welcome, Juniors!
The goal of this course is to develop and refine students' skills in reading, writing, and literary analysis through the study of a variety of genres: short fiction, drama, novels, and nonfiction. Students will read, discuss, and write about the themes, structures, and styles of selected literary works. Students will write noth formal and informal papers throughout the school year. CAPT skills will also be stressed in this course. Students will be evaluated on responses that reflect an understanding of literary elements as evidenced in journal entries, tests and quizzes, and major writing assignments and projects.
